Furi Kuri (FLCL)

Cartoon network has launched a bizzare new show called FLCL (fooley cooley, the english way to say FuriKuri). Going by what my friend Ed said at Otakon...the words Furi Kuri is a joke on the sound breasts make when you squeeze them.... How accurate Ed's info is im not too sure... but it is a very bizzare show.

A boy named Naota (Mamimi calls him Ta-kun, I believe because she's trying to replace his brother as her boyfriend...) has a robot that came out of his head... well now i want one! TV-kun they call him, since his head is a television. He fights the other, more evil robots that also pop out of naota's head....which are all mainly hand shaped.

They randomly go into manga form and the dad and grandpa are both perverted and talk about "furikuri" waaay too much for naota's comfort. But theres alot of good music, and some decent robot to robot fighting, and lots of Haruko (an odd space "vespa" woman) hiting things with her guitar or scooter. Shes an insane one she is.

But its worth a look, even if its really hard to follow at times. So check it out..see what you think. The music is really good. I already have the first OST. <_<

Characters

Naota
Japanese seiyuu: Mizuki Jun
The Chosen One.

Naota is the unfortunate main character. He meets Haruko, who in turn whacks him in the head with her guitar and says "you're head is the only one that works." So now Naota has robots coming out of his head. He thinks he loves Mamimi, but at the same time both loves and hates Haruko. He's a very confused child.

Haruko
Japanese seiyuu: Shintani Mayumi
The Vespa Woman

Haruko is in fact an alien looking for the lost powers of Atamos. Supposedly Naota can get that power for her. She rides around on her Vespa Scooter and hits things with her guitar. Mainly Naota. When shes not attacking Naota, she's normally cooking spicey food just to annoy Naota, or making out with his dad. Parents lock up your children, they shouldn't be watching this show.

Kanchi
Japanese seiyuu: NA
TV-Kun

Kanchi, or TV-Kun, is the very first robot that comes out of Naota's head. Together, he and Naota fight against all the other, evil robots that come out of his head. Naota's dad made Kanchi the official housemaid, so he's often seen with an apron and doing housework.

Mamimi
Japanese seiyuu: Kasagi Izumi
The Pyro

Mamimi is really the girlfriend of Naota's brother. But when Naota's brother went to America, Mamimi felt lonely and tries to make herself think that Naota is his brother. She even goes so far as to call him Ta-kun (after his brother). She worships Kanchi because she thinks he's a fire god that has come to recognize her. She's a pyro with some real issues.
