Kazuhiko Amamiya is a murder detective. Like most murder detectives he runs around working on case files trying to figure out who the murderer was and their motive. The only difference between Amamiya and all the other detectives, is that he has multiple personalities. One of which comitted a violent murder and got him thrown into prison for a number of years. Now as he works to solve the various cases involving highly brutal methods (cannibalism, bodily mutilation, and other more disturbing methods) Amamiya tries to find out who he really is among the various people living in his mind.

Amamiya, also known as Yousuke Kobayashi, is a murder detective. He also has multiple personalities. One of Amamiya's personalities is actually a murderer who landed him in jail for several years. During the trial of "Yousuke Kobayashi" the judge called him to stand for the verdict and as he stood he said "No! I am not Yousuke Kobayashi. I am Kazuhiko Amamiya."

Machi is an investigator who retired from the police department. She now works as an investigator for a special department branch. She has hired Amamiya for his vast knowledge of the criminal mind.
Toguchi
The Reporter
Toguchi is a freelance journalist who tapes crime scenes for a government run, under-funded small television station. He gets almost all of his footage by following people on his bicycle and meeting the police at the scene. Toguchi is also quite lucky when it comes to obtaining rare footage that the regular media can't or doesn't record. He rarely ever wears the same eyepatch twice.
Miwa Izono
The Sister
Miwa is Machi's little sister. They have different mothers but love each other just the same. Miwa likes to try and scare Amamiya when he's working on the computer by sneaking up behind him. She also makes it a habbit to get in the way.
